Education and certification: Bachelor's degree in related field
Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience with front end web development using React JavaScript
  • Experience with complex react state management using hooks and/or redux
  • Excellent knowledge of web development technologies including: Javascript (ES6), TypeScript, HTML, CSS, HTTP, and REST
  • Excellent communication skills in a distributed team environment
  • Experience using NPM tools and commands including yarn etc.
  • Experience with test driven software development and automated testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress, Jest, react-testing, postman)
  • Experience with software development practices such as agile or Scrum
  • Experience with continuous delivery and integration tools such as Git, JIRA, Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP Top Ten)
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Experience with and ability to successfully demonstrate coding capabilities
Good to have Skills
  • Experience with JSON:API
  • Knowledge of C# and .net core software development
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems (e.g. MSSQL, Couchbase)
  • Fluency in domain driven design (DDD) and event sourcing design patterns.

The focus of this work is to build and enhance software systems that service the operations of the laboratory.  Agile delivery will be used.  Work will be managed with JIRA and weekly hours will be tracked in custom tool.  Code is to be checked in daily to our PNNL repository.  All systems will be subject to review and correction by staff software engineers as well as acceptance by the users of the system(s).
