Senior Developer (Python)

Jewellery Quarter Bullion are seeking a promising candidate looking for an opportunity to fulfil their potential as a great software developer.

In the past 12 years we have become the UK biggest gold and silver bullion business turning over £200m a year. We are the parent company behind the TV brand BullionByPost, the UK’s No.1 online bullion dealer, and GOLD.co.uk, the UK’s second largest physical gold retailer.

In addition, we own The Fine Jewellery Company and The Jewellers, who offer one of the widest ranges of gifting jewellery online.

The role

You will report directly to the Head of Software Development and will work closely with other team members to develop, review, and maintain functionality across our websites, business systems, and APIs. You will play a role in guiding forward an already successful and expanding company, with the opportunity to take on more responsibility over time.

Key responsibilities

· Developing and maintaining our bespoke web applications and APIs.

· Working closely with other team members to produce high-quality features.

· Working to improve your skills and sharing them with other team members.

· Helping to specify, plan, and estimate software solutions.

Requirements

· 5 year’s software development experience

· 2 year’s Python experience.

· Experience building e-commerce, ERP, or other business systems.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Beneficial

· A portfolio of recent work (links to websites or code repos).

· Experience with a Python web framework like Django or Flask.

· Experience with unit testing and continuous integration.

· Unix system administration or DevOps skills.

· Foreign languages.
