Brooksource is seeking a forward-thinking Python Engineer to assist with an enterprise wide data automation project with our retail client in Austin, TX. As part of the larger Data organization, you will be responsible for working individually and collaboratively to develop, support, and model large quantities of data in preparation for a larger automation initiative. Our ideal candidate is someone with a self-motivated, innovative mindset who can solve complex problems, work backwards to find solutions to ambiguous problems and has the ability to “look through the chaos” to find the correct path forward working with various technology and business stakeholders at all levels.


Responsibilities:

  • Code, troubleshoot, and deploy large data sets in preparation for model building
  • Drive automation best practices to enable future teams to act self sufficiently
  • Proficient in ability to read and write python code with ability to troubleshoot and optimize code ahead of deployment
  • Familiarity with Java to assist with data integration design decisions
  • Responsible for ensuring all security, availability, confidentiality and privacy policies and controls are adhered to
  • Leverage native AWS services to execute automation best practices
  • Assist with long term roadmap in alignment with executive leadership for automation best practices
  • Collaborate with various business and technical stakeholders and executive leadership at all levels


Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of software development/ engineering experience
  • Proficient in Python and SQL
  • Experience with AWS native services (S3, Redshift, Lambda, Aurora)
  • Automation experience at an enterprise scale
  • Strong experience in all aspects of the software development life cycle
  • Strong problem- solving, analytical and communication skills
  • Experience contributing in an Agile development environment
  • Ability to take ownership and work in a fast-paced environment while showcasing problem solving ability
