PHP Developer (Remote)

iService Auto is a leader in the automotive market with our proprietary software that focuses on enhancing transparency and communication between repair shops and customers in the United States. With our unique edge, we have created several tools to enhance the experience and engagement between the customer and the service team. We are growing fast! We are looking for a stellar back-end developer with a sense of humor that will complement our existing killer team. We are looking for someone with a focus on back-end PHP and must have a passing knowledge of the MVC framework Symfony. The ideal candidate will also be able to develop and maintain front-end code written in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery/BootStrap. A lot of this job will include not just integrating with SOAP and REST APIs, but also developing our own internal REST APIs. We're looking for someone that understands that the best way to code is by deleting code and that the code you do write should be as small, re-usable, and modular as possible. Great communication is key! We will need you to be able to prove you are self-driven and be able to operate independently with minimal supervision. We are looking for someone to join our collaborative team, not for us to be your client. While this position is not a full-time employment, this can be a full-time contract. We are open to people that can not provide 40 hours/week, but that is highly preferred.

Skills and Expertise

• Design and maintain the overall architecture of web applications
• Maintain the quality and integrity of large amounts of sensitive data
• Understand and implement web security protocols
• Collaborate with the rest of the engineering team to develop and launch new products/features with a "Time To Market" mentality
• Maintain code integrity and organization through frequent refactoring and reviews
• Highly experienced with PHP and the MVC framework Symfony or at the very least Laravel
• Knowledge and experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery; nice to have: ReactJS, NodeJS
• Comfortable in a Linux terminal
• Must have experience with MySQL; nice to have: Firebase
• Knowledge of collaborative versioning using Git
• Experience working with cloud services providers such as: DigitalOcean, Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, etc.
• Nice to have: DevOps experience
