Seeking a developer to develop a set of Perl scripts to transform and migrate a large dataset from CSV into an Oracle Database via SQL*Loader
Your responsibilities will entail as followed
Participate in waterfall / agile development projects
Interpret business requirements and technical specification documents
Develop clean, high-quality and reusable code to written technical specifications
Suggest optimal application development amendments to meet or exceed business objectives

  • Understanding and implementation of security and data protection
  • Security Clearance preferable
  • Flexible attitude and an ability to perform under pressure

I have an excellent opportunity for a Network Engineer with strong Juniper skills to join a consultancy based in Westminster on an inital 3 month contract.

The responsibility of the Network Engineer is to act as a third line of escalation for faults and changes for our client.

The role is office based and will required to be part of on call rota and, occasionally, out of office hours work.

The Network engineers will troubleshoot and manage to resolution complex faults affecting customer services, including escalations from the Help desk team. They will review and implement complex changes to the network infrastructure.

In addition to this, Network engineers will implement new solutions for customers onto the network, which may involve firewalls, WiFi AP, managed switches and VPNs onto cloud services and SaaS. They will also assist in the planning and implementing of network infrastructure changes as required by the business, in conjunction with the Architecture and Project teams.

We are looking for an experienced Back-end Developer with demonstrably strong Ruby to implement new features in a ground breaking, cutting-edge SaaS web application. You'll be working closely with the Computer Vision & Data Science teams and bundling their data processing pipeline into docker containers. You'll be defining the APIs between those containers and the existing platform, and integrating the data they produce into their data model. The back-end is mostly written in Ruby (but not Rails), the database is PostgreSQL with Sequel ORM.

The successful candidate is likely to have a BSc/BEng in Maths, Physics, Computer Science/equiv.

He/she will need:

  • strong experience with Ruby, Perl / Python
  • working with databases and relational data models e.g. PostgreSQL or similar
  • web application development
  • Linux as a development and production environment

Nice to have’s:

  • C, C++, Java
  • web front end languages and frameworks, e.g. HTML, CSS and JavaScript

My client is looking for X2 DevOps Engineers that will be responsible for creating all of the pipelines and toolings associated with a project and internally. This will include taking an active part in project design and build, supporting Developers and other members of the project teams and supporting the systems that these tools reside on.

Responsibilities

  • Provision of standard toolsets , e.g. Terraform, Bitbucket, Jira, Chef, Jenkins etc.
  • Building Environments and pipelines for projects large and small.
  • Continuous improvement of internal process.
  • Technical administration of the company's hosting and cloud providers.
  • 3rd line support of clients.
  • Input into design of new projects, and use of new internal tools.
  • Continuous investigation into new ways of doing things, and integrating them into standard use.
  • Automate everything!

Technical Skills

  • Experience with any configuration management tools, e.g. Chef (preferred), Puppet, Ansible.
  • Experience with any build and provisioning tools, eg. Terraform, Packer, Jenkins, Team City etc.
  • Extensive Linux Systems Administration experience.
  • Experience and knowledge of AWS, Azure, bare-metal and Virtual hosting.
  • Experience with monitoring systems, e.g. Nagios, New Relic, DataDog, Splunk etc.
  • Experience with Docker container hosting (Kubernetes, RedShift etc.)
  • Any of: Bash script, Python,Ruby, Perl, C, C++, Java.
  • Experience of network design.
  • Experience of work in secure environments (e.g. PCIDSS etc.)
  • Knowledge of Network administration with Cisco equipments a plus.
  • Windows administration experience optional.
  • Working knowledge of digital delivery processes and methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Attention to detail with a pragmatic and enthusiastic attitude to work.
