Title: Pega Architect II

Location: Washington, DC

Duration: Long Term Assignment

Position Overview:

The Pega Architect will need to have a solid background and experience developing software on the Pega platform. As a member of the Pega COE, this person will be relied upon as a subject matter expert of the Pega BPM technology, its capabilities and best practices.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Collaborate closely with other Pega architects.
  • Be a champion of Pega’s technology and its value to the customer.
  • Establish standards and best practices for a Pega Center of Excellence (CoE).
  • Integrate other enterprise platforms – such as Sailpoint, Sharepoint, Documentum etc. – with Pega platform.
  • Design and implement new Pega applications and prototypes.
  • Mentor and support junior-level system architects to cultivate and sustain Pega expertise for the Bank Group.
  • Integrate Pega applications with external APIs, web services and legacy data sources.
  • Estimate implementation level of effort based upon requirements and design.
  • Develop foundational enhancements to existing production Pega applications.

Educational Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s’ degree in Computer Science/Mathematics or related field.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • In-depth theoretical understanding and practical expertise with regards to enterprise information management systems.
  • From 2 to 5+ years of experience in architecting & developing Business Process Management and Business Rules Engines applications on Pega platform.
  • Extensive understanding and knowledge of Pega RULES Process Commander.
  • Designing and creating Rules, Flows, Activities etc. using Pega RULES Process Commander V7/6.x/5.x.
  • Troubleshooting & performance tuning of PRPC applications using Clipboard, Tracer, PAL and SMA.
  • All phases of software development lifecycle including analysis, design, implementation, testing and deployment.
  • Strong Object-Oriented design and implementation skills.
  • Design and development of UI’s using JavaScript, HTML and custom CSS Stylesheets.
  • Creating SOAP/REST connectors/services.
  • Exceptional communication skills in English both written and oral.
  • Agile Development Methodology, especially PegaSCRUM.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues.
  • Strong understanding of relational database design concepts.
  • Experience in working with the large-scale (100+ entities) relational data models.
  • Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, for retrieving data from large volume tables.
  • Familiarity with various process modeling techniques (activity hierarchy diagrams, data flow diagrams, sequence diagrams, workflow diagrams, system interface diagrams).

Desired Skills/Abilities (not required but a plus):

  • Experience in migration of rulesets, products and product patches.
  • Experience with other BPM products.
  • Integration of Pega and other platforms.
  • Experience with Banking sector.
  • Understanding of security models for protecting data in applications.

Pluses for Levels: (II or III):

  • Level II: Minimum 8 years of hands-on SDLC experience in systems ranging from reporting to content management.
  • Level III: Minimum 10 years of hands-on SDLC experience in systems ranging from reporting to content management.
