Network Engineer Job Description Network Engineering Resource Responsibilities Installation, support and maintenance of new and existing network hardware and associated infrastructure. Monitoring of network usage and bandwidth statistics. Implement changes to enterprise network equipment following formal change control procedures. Perform configuration and issue remediation of Cisco network switches and routers. Perform routine preventative measures and implementation, maintenance and monitoring of network utilization. Participate and drive new projects and deployment of new data network technologies in an enterprise environment. Ensure that network equipment complies with standard operating procedures and guidelines. Oversight and coordination of low voltage vendors performing cabling and associated tasks. Utilize enterprise tools to manage and monitor the network environment CA Spectrum Infoblox NetScout Wire Shark Statseeker SharePoint Fluke Air Magnet Adhere to contract SLAs, and as directed by client to manage workload to meet these SLAs. Update customer ITSM ticketing system, inventoryasset management systems as required, and complete appropriate paperwork for customer acceptance. Provide a flexible work schedule as defined by client Cleveland Clinic published schedule. Learn and become knowledgeable of customer products and services. Demonstrate effective soft skills, active listening skills and ability to empathize with customer's situation. Demonstrate effective communications, customer relation and de-escalation techniques. Demonstrate logical problem solving, analytical, systematic approach to issue remediation. General Requirements Experience level 3-5 yearsrsquo experience working in an enterprise level environment supporting data network infrastructure. CCNA certification or equivalent experience. Able to build and implement devices with minimal supervision using formal change control procedures and policies. Demonstrates logical problem solving, analytical, systematic approach to issue remediation. Design, configure, and troubleshoot wireless enterprise network architecture Remediation of downed Access Points in the field. QA test new wireless enterprise systems. Evaluate wireless medical equipment for Clinical Devices. Work with field services to resolve customer network issues. Core competencies as shown in section 3.1 above Direct hands on recent experience with the following type(s) of networking equipment Cisco 3500, 3650, 3750, 3850, 3560, 4800 series switches Cisco based Access points Experience Configuration and management of wireless controllers Experience with Cisco Prime Infrastructure and Cisco Wireless Controllers Experience troubleshooting and remediating wireless APs Experience with vocera system and wireless IP Phones Nexus 5k, 7k, 9k Cisco 4400 and 4300 ISR Cisco 2900 2900 ASR APC 2000, 3000 and 5000 series UPS systems Ability to work independently and as a team in order to achieve deliverables and objectives. Ability to provide support and mentor new engineering staff as needed. Report daily or travel to Cleveland Clinic customer locations throughout the greater Cleveland metropolitan area and north east Ohio.
