Job Summary:

Battelle is currently seeking a senior Systems Architect to support the Mission Partner Capabilities Office (MPCO). The Mission Partner Capabilities Office (MPCO) executes the Secretary of the Air Forces responsibilities as Executive Agent for the MPE. The MPE provides enterprise level, worldwide interoperable C2I information sharing capabilities with Mission Partners (e.g., federal departments and agencies; State, local, and tribal governments, and agencies; non-governmental organizations; private sector organizations; Allies, coalition members, host nations, and other nations; and multinational treaty organizations) to share strategic, operational, and tactical information with all participants through all phases of military operations.
The scope of MPCO activities includes Operations, Maintenance and Sustainment (OM&S) support to legacy systems, platforms, and capabilities; Enterprise architecture and integration; Enterprise transformation to include the Secret and Below Research Environment (SABRE); Separate and distinct Cybersecurity oversight and Independent Validation and Verification (IV&V) functions; and Combatant Command (CCMD) and other stakeholder requirements.

Battelles Logistics and Operations (L&O) Division is seeking a Systems Architect located in the National Capital Region to support system engineering and technical assistance to the MCPO.
The position will support MCPO with documenting current North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) NATO National Gateway (NNG) design standards to include cyber defense mechanisms and operational accreditation processes and map to appropriate DoD cyber and accreditation requirements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in documenting extant engineering and design of NATO National Gateway at Wiesbaden Germany.
Assist in documenting current systems/networks currently attached to the Wiesbaden NNG.
Assist in documenting engineering of current U.S. connection points to NATO NSWAN.
Assist in defining the operational environment that the NATO NNG must support.
Assist in architecting and design of the U.S. portion of the NNG to include development of installation and recurring management cost estimates.
Assist in the development of a transition plan shifting circuit connections from extant NCIA connections to the new NNGs

THE FOLLOWING IS REQUIRED
Bachelors Degree in an engineering or computer science related field with at least 15 years of professional experience or masters degree in an engineering or physical science field with at least 12 years of professional experience.
Experience leading network architecture design, engineering, and technology integration for C2I applications.
Broad background in system engineering and administration, software development support, Risk Management Framework/Information Assurance.
Experience with requirements functional decomposition on multiple programs of varying complexity.
Familiarity with cutting edge network, cloud technology and DevSecOps practices for delivering C2.
Experience working with US DoD Program Management Offices.
Experience generating proposals, plans, procedures, and reports.
Proficiency in planning and tracking programs using a requirements management software application.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills with ability to use standard Microsoft Office tools
Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary and physically distributed team environment.
Ability to lead technical teams and mentor less experienced technical staff.
Must be a US Citizen with the ability and willingness to obtain and maintain a SECRET DoD Security Clearance.

THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED
Masters Degree or PhD in an engineering program with ABET-accreditation.
Familiarity with Mission Partner Environment Information Systems
Experience leading major DoD/Service C2I systems architecture and modernization efforts
Configuration Control and Configuration Management.
Experience with modeling of engineering systems.
Experience working with multi-organizational, geographically distributed, and segmented engineering teams.
