Key Role:
Leverage knowledge of the basics behind the Internet and its workings, including DNS, security, IP routing, HTTP, VPN, e-mail routing, and SPAM. Configure and set up Cisco Firewalls, VPN, and security appliances for access to vital business applications. Configure and maintain high availability (HA) complex switching environments, including a multi-site network. Assist with the design of multi-server environments, including IP address schemes, DNS, Ether-Channel, and LACP. Configure and install client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems, administer security procedures, ensure system back-ups, and monitor and make recommendations to improve network performance. Supervise the administration of systems and servers related to the network to ensure availability of services to authorized users. Troubleshoot malfunctions of network hardware, software applications, and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
Basic Qualifications:
-5+ years of experience with networking
-Experience with deploying networks in commercial or government environments
-Experience with maintaining and configuring firewalls, routers, and switches
-Experience with troubleshooting network hardware and software
-Experience with researching network OS vulnerabilities and plan to patch in a timely manner
-Experience with Microsoft Visio, Excel, and Word -Knowledge of networking concepts, including DNS, ARP, NAT, Routing, VPN, VLAN, Port Channeling, and VRRP
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-BA or BS degree in IT
-CCNP Certification
