Network Administrator | 9 Month Contract | Hampshire | £600pd
People Source Consulting are currently seeking a Network admin and test engineer to be involved in a manual/automated testing project with some DevOps elements. This will be an initial 9 month contract with a high likelihood of extension come contract end.
The project is the integration and test of various IP networked prototype devices.
The role is expected to be:
- 50% network administration, ensuring network resilience, supervising backups, implementing security policy, adding assets to the network.
- 50% supporting test activities, including hands-on fault-finding of the network (using tools like tcpdump and Wireshark).
This is working within sensitive Research and Defence projects and as such, SC / DV cleared candidates are preferred but all applicants must be eligible and willing to undertake Security Clearance as a minimum.
Core skills:
· Linux operating systems (especially Ubuntu);· Knowledge of VMWare + ESXi· IP networking in a Linux context.
An understanding of DevOps and virtualisation technologies such as VSphere, Terraform, Ansible, Packer would be beneficial but not essential. Likewise, a knowledge of Behaviour Driven Development and relevant tools would be useful.
In return, my client are offering contract Day rates of up to £600pd on an initial 9 month contract, likely to extend.
