THE JOB This is a DevOps Software Engineer position and requires someone who has C#, .NET, GIT, CHEF, Powershell. As a DevOps Software Engineer your roles and responsibilities as a DevOps Software Engineer will include:
Migration of an existing application to an AWS environment using an existing Chef automation solution.
Work with the DevOps team to support a Chef based automated deployment solutions for Microsoft Windows software solutions.
Modify an existing Chef automated deployment solution to support a new environment in AWS.
Analyze existing Microsoft Windows C#/.NET software and use that information to modify existing configuration management solutions in Chef.
Troubleshoot and debug Chef recipes, attributes, data bags and roles.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Most importantly, you need to be a passionate DevOps Software Engineer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal DevOps Software Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
4+ years of experience with C# .Net development
Hands on experience with Git as well as hosting solutions (e.g. Gitlab is a plus)
PowerShell scripting expertise
Experience managing and working with Windows environments
Strong debugging and diagnostic skills
Strong communication skills and must be able to communicate and coordinate well with both peers and management
Nice to Have Skills
Experience with the Chef stack, especially Chef/Ruby and RunDeck for Windows deployments
Experience with AWS
Experience with Team City or CI systems in general
Experience with Artifactory
Some experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA and Confluence
