Motion Graphics Designer (Remote)

Two old friends launched Article Group in 2015. One was a Silicon Valley product marketer. The other was an NYC agency creative. After five years of serious elbow grease, we’ve grown to a staff of 30+, with team in LA, San Francisco, Brooklyn, and Rochester.

We’re seeking a freelance Motion Graphics Designer to collaborate remotely with teams and individuals in New York, California and beyond. We are hiring for a ~6 week project starting late-August, with an average of 20 hrs / week effort (ranging from ~10 hrs in initial weeks to near-full-time in final weeks).

Key responsibilities:

• Concept, create, render, and deliver motion graphics for all video format deliverables

• Co-identify animation moments/overlays with AG design team and clients; help draft additional high level storyboards (if required)

• Assist in selecting video, colors, animation, etc for graphic design

• Work with production team (editors, producers and other designers) to resolve technical and/or design issues (video elements must work in concert thematically with scripts / narrative)

• Participate in project briefings and weekly meetings - be a part of the team

• Ensure working files are organized and accessible

You’ll be an ideal candidate if you have:

• 3+ years’ relevant experience

• Expertise in AfterEffects and other relevant Adobe design suite products

• A contemporary portfolio or working samples reflecting your specific contributions

• Understands digital content best practices with ability to guide internal and external teams through the design process

• Experience working remotely or with remote teams via video conference and messaging tools

• A proven ability to manage and organize your own work and adhere to schedules and deadlines

• Demonstrated skill as an empathetic listener, communicator and collaborator

• Poise under pressure

• Resilience to accept criticism of your work

This role is not ideal for individuals seeking:

• Entry-level assignments

• First-time experience within a creative agency or related service

COVID-19 considerations:
We started as a distributed team, and have barely skipped a beat in shifting to 100% remote. When it's abundantly safe to work in and commute to our offices, we will re-open - but will remain flexible to remote collaboration.
