GDIT is seeking Mid-level and Senior level SAP/Middleware Professionals to support efforts at the U.S. Navy Supply Command (NAVSUP) Business Systems Center (BSC) in Mechanicsburg, PA.

The Mission

NAVSUP BSC is a provider for IT, Information Management, and Information Systems preferred provider for architecture, integrating, sustaining and improving applications, information, and business process services to Navy, DOD, and others. GDIT supports BSC and the Navy’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) program migration to SAP Business Suite. The vision of Navy ERP is to provide the Navy with information technology services to manage its worldwide resources: people, supply, and financials. The integration of financial and supply solutions on a single platform will provide real-time data access and decision support to the Navy Enterprise.

What will you be doing?

As a Middleware Developer, your responsibilities may include: providing input into high-level solution architecture; creating detailed designs for implementation and implement them; enhancing in-house knowledge of the webMethods suite; strategically building reusable assets utilizing webMethods; mentoring and teaching newer webMethods Developers best practices and techniques and assisting with answering questions during development efforts; and participating in regular team meetings

Middleware Developer Job Description

As a Middleware Developer, your expertise will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Expert level knowledge of Software AG WebMethods 9.x Integration Server and related technologies
  • Experience documenting and communicating integration designs aligned to business requirements
  • Experience designing queries and working with standard object/relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL
  • Experience with Source control/Bug Tracking/Automated Build tools Jira and Jenkin
  • Strong Knowledge of SOAP, REST, JMS architecture Concepts and PUB/SUB Pattern
  • Strong knowledge of web services security
  • Strong knowledge of Java SE, Java EE, XML, XML Schema, XSD, XSLT/XPath and JSON technologies
  • Software AG WebMethods Integration Server performance tuning experience a plus
  • Experience with CA API Gateway and/or IBM WebSphere MQ is preferred

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline. An additional 4 years of demonstrated middleware or equivalent experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Mid-Level

o Minimum of 6 years of SAP experience

o Federal experience; preferred is 2 years Navy ERP (SAP) experience within the past ten years

• • Senior-Level

o Minimum of 12 years of SAP experience

o Federal experience; preferred is 5 years Navy ERP (SAP) experience within the past ten years

  • Active DoD Clearance (SSBI or above)
  • Security+
  • OS Certification (Linux or Unix)
  • Should have minimum 7 years of IT including 3-4 years of lifecycle experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse. Should have implemented 3 major data warehouses from concept to implementation with hands-on technical experience.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Mid-Level

o Prefer a minimum 4 years of experience in development and integration solutions support

o Prefer a minimum 2 years of experience developing with Service Flows, Adapter Connections, and Portlet technologies o Prefer a minimum 2 years of coding skills in Java (Java SE, Java EE, XML, XML Schema, XSD, XSLT/XPath and JSON technologies) and SQL Prefer a minimum 2 years of experience in developing SOAP/REST web services

o Prefer a minimum 2 years of experience working with web services security

o Prefer a minimum 2 years of experience with transmission protocols (http/s, ftp/s, sftp)

  • Senior-Level

o Prefer a minimum 8 years of experience in development and integration solutions support

o Prefer a minimum 4 years of experience developing with Service Flows, Adapter Connections, and Portlet technologies

Potential for 4-day work weeks; 50% remote

This position requires extensive travel for those outside of the Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania area, expected by the customer to be 50% of the work days at the worksite in Mechanicsburg, however it could be more than 50% of the work days. Travel requirements are subject to change. In addition, should this assignment meet the requirements for long-term taxable travel (more than 50% of the work days in a work location away from home state in a calendar year), travel expenses reimbursed by the company will be treated as income for tax purposes.
