Expertise with Microstrategy and its latest evolving features (3+ years
with this is required)
Experience/knowledge about with overall tools of BI like PowerBI ,
Business objects, Tableau , Cognos etc
Excellent communication skills as this person would be interacting with
other development teams using BI platforms in client
NICE TO HAVE:
AWS is a plus
R or Python exposure is a plus
ABOUT TEAM:
The role is for Enterprise Data organization team. They provide
consultancy and expert advice to other development teams using BI
platforms in client and has an expert of each BI tool in the team. Right
now they are looking for Microstrategy expert.
TYPICAL DAY-TO-DAY:
The person would be responsible for interacting with other development
teams using BI platforms in client and providing them advise upon which
BI tool to use , provide roadmap to implement it in the project and make
sure for troubleshooting any problems they come across. At the same time
he would be preparing reports , giving presentations ,doing research
etc. It is not a normal development role but they need SME kind of
people who knows in and out of Microstrategy
DESCRIPTION:
As a part of Business Intelligence Center of Excellence (BI CoE) team;
provide consultation to business units in selecting BI technology from
existing portfolio, perform design reviews, conduct tool demonstrations
and advise best practices. Explore, research and evaluate new BI
technologies in the marketplace and communicate findings. Foster BI
expertise through customer enablement program and events. Conduct tool
capability evaluations in collaboration with business and author written
reports. Test new releases and new features as part of upgrade planning
process. Collaborate with other teams in optimizing the BI tool strategy
and footprint for client.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of related experience
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Prior experience as a BI Solutions Analyst or BI Consultant.
- Expert level technical skills in MicroStrategy and at least one other
BI technologies - Tableau, Business Objects, ThoughtSpot, Alteryx, Power
BI or similar tools in a large scale environment.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and evaluate new technologies and to
document findings for publication to others.
- Knowledge of BI and Data Analytics market trends.
- Understanding of data visualization techniques and ability to apply
those techniques to answer business questions and address business
problems.
- Experience with requirements collection, use case assessment, design
reviews and troubleshooting.
- Desire and ability to multi-task and work effectively on multiple
projects.
- Exceptional customer service and consulting skills, including ability
to work with both business and technical clients in a positive manner.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including ability
to write blogs, position papers, narrate videos and to give
presentations in front of large audiences.
- Ability and desire to write research reports and document team
processes.
- Understanding of and ability to apply advanced analysis techniques
such as statistical functions, statistical models, what if analysis,
predictive analytics and machine learning.
- Ability to write and understand SQL and read data models
- Knowledge of R or Python a plus.
- Experience with BI platforms on AWS a plus.
