Hey there, we're Forest.AM, an EduTech startup based out of Denver. We're building practice resources for the ACT-Exam, and we need some expert advice in designing our back-end to analyze our user's data.
Specifically, our students will visit Forest.AM every day and answer practice questions. We'll use that data (response chosen + answer time) to estimate the student's mastery of specific concepts, response time, their error rate, and predict their score on an actual ACT exam. We need to also assess the questions in our database for difficulty, length, and fit (the concepts being tested for) compared to the official ACT exam.
I think someone well-versed in machine-learning would be well-equipped to design the models we need.
We're a startup, so we don't have enough money to hire someone part time or full time, so we're looking to add a consultant role for now, but possibly in the future we could bring you on full or part time. You don't need to be located in the Denver area, you can work remotely, but it would be a nice bonus to be able to meet in person.
Some skills that would be helpful:
-Familiar with standardized testing (such as the ACT, SAT, GRE)
-Familiar with Psychometric Analysis
-Familiar with Data Analytics and statistical modeling techniques, such as regression analysis
-Back-end development experience (specifically coding in Julia or Python)
Thanks for looking, I hope to hear from you soon!
