Lead Linux Engineer

This is an excellent opportunity to join is organisation as the point of contact for Linux related issues and queries. On a day to day basis you will be responsible for, developing and maintaining Linux installation and configuration procedures, researching and recommending system and process improvements, designing and configuring Linux security and hardening of servers.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required

• Comprehensive knowledge of Red Hat Linux and clones
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to diagnose and fix server hardware/software issues.
• Maintain and support VMWare virtual environments.
• Understanding and working knowledge of the following technologies:
• HP Servers and HP SIM/Dell Servers and Dell OpenManage.
• Storage Area Networks (including 3Par and similar)
• Backup software and management
• VMware vSAN or other Hyper-Converged solutions

Skills, Knowledge & Experience Desired

• Knowledge of Solarflare NICs and associated products (Onload, TCPDirect, etc)
• Knowledge of low-latency configuration management and monitoring (tuned, NUMA
• balancing, perf, etc)
• Scripting skills in at least two of Bash, Perl or Python
• Automation and configuration management skills, preferably in Ansible or puppet
• Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems.
• Maintain and support Microsoft Active Directory.
• Support Microsoft Exchange and Office365.
• Active Directory and group policy.
• Powershell.
• Microsoft networking infrastructure i.e.: DHCP, DNS
• Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager
