Lead Developer/Data Architect (REMOTE) – Contract

About the Role...

This role calls for an individual who can assess, design, implement and communicate technology architectures to both technical and non-technical audiences. Projects can span a wide range of project types from relatively simple projects to cutting edge research projects. A key aspect of this role is your ability to explain solutions for complex problems to dev leads and senior non-technical leadership. Design, build, and deliver the required architecture following governance requirements. Provide guidance to evolve our standards over time and ensure that our technology standards are followed. Perform an architecture QA role during proposal phases through all subsequent on-going project phases. Provide support with estimating during all appropriate phases.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of BI-related development experience
• 5+ years acting as a data architect with a proven track record of delivery experience across operations, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization
• 5+ years working hands-on with relational and NoSQL databases in development, deployment, administration, and architecture
• 4+ years of previous development experience
• Strong background in SQL Server with proficiency SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, views and stored procedures
• Advanced data analysis qualifications including advanced SQL query capabilities; deep experience in data modeling, data analysis and relational database design
• Experience in OLAP Cube and MDX query development
• Experience in OLTP – transactional databases – troubleshooting current architecture and stored procedures
• Azure data stack experience
• Microsoft Certified Arch.: Database, MCTS in SQL Server Business Intelligence, or MCDBA desired
• T-SQL
• MySQL a plus
• Research, analyze, and recommend technical solutions; create architectural documentation describing proposed solutions
• Ability to provide professional, polished presentations to the company as a whole
• MS/CS or equivalent work experience
• Able to view entire solution from a holistic perspective not just back-end components; uses this to drive overall success of engagement
• Experience with Redis and Cosmos a plus
• Kafka, Kinesis a plus
