This is a long-term contract position that is budgeted for all of 2021 and is planned to be extended for 2022.
Pay range for this position is $73-78/hr W2. Manager will consider fully remote candidates but does have a preference for Denver or Philadelphia.
Looking for a Lead Java & Scala developer with 12+ years of software development experience. This position will be 50% leadership & mentoring, leading a team of 8-10 members, and 50% hands-on development. Desired experience in Spark, AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Kinesis), and Springboot. Docker, Kubernetes and big data are a plus.
Responsibility
- Designs, develops, and implements web-based Java applications to support business requirements.
- Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing.
- Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Performs a variety of tasks. A degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
- Codes software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers.
- Standardizes the quality assurance procedure for software. Oversees testing and develops fixes.
- Contribute to the Design and develop high quality software for large scale Java/Spring Batch/Hadoop distributed systems by
- Loading and processing from disparate data sets using appropriate technologies including but not limited to, Hive, Pig, MapReduce, HBase, Spark, Storm and Kafka.
Skills
- Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 12 years+ of experience in the field or in a related area.
- Requires ability to lead technical team & to solve technical challenges.
- Expert knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- 12 years+ of Java/Scala experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Experience with Python, Kafka, Spark, Databricks,
- Ability to write simple to complicated SQL in addition to having ability to comprehend and support data questions/analysis using already written existing complicated queries
- Familiarity in Dev/Ops (Puppet, Chef, Python)
- Expert knowledge of AWS Services (EC2, S3, RDS, Kinesis etc)
- Expert knowledge in container-based technologies like Docker, Kubernetes and Openshift along with development of Microservices architecture using Spring Boot including distributed SSO Authentication and
Authorization, Distributed Session Management etc.
- Strong experience in developing Web Services using RESTful, SOAP, Apache, Axis & XML.
