Primary Talent Partner is a staffing firm supporting clients nationally. This position is an 8 month contract, with extensions available in Reston, VA with a great client of ours. If hired for this position, you would be an hourly contractor of Primary Talent Partners reporting to and taking instructions from the end client hiring manager.

The Lab Administrator [System Administrator] will support the administration, operation, and maintenance of the Continuous Diagnostic and Mitigation (CDM) DEFEND E Lab environments. The Lab [System] Administrator will also develop and maintain all images, including network devices, for all infrastructure devices in support of the CDM Solution stack.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build, configure and maintain physical and virtual servers for a large scale testing platform. Provision and decommission lab accounts.
- Collaborate with team members on a regular basis to maintain consistency in design and implementation.
- Ensure the stability, availability, and reliability of the lab, providing timely notification of any concerns or outages. Integrate new deployments, technologies and virtual equipment into the lab environments.
- Update and perform standard operating procedures.
- Create and modify scripts as needed to automate repetitive tasks.
- Provide operational support to development and test community.
- Monitor system performance, system/security logs and identifying potential issues.
- Attend project meetings to gain insight on future lab requirements and conduct status meeting to notify management of potential constraints, conflicts or establish, test, maintain and document baseline configurations.
- Project storage, compute and process capacity.
- Maintain awareness of technology roadmaps and end-of-life. Maintain “gold standard” images for all servers and end point devices.
- Coordinate with engineering team to provide for the testing of new services and network equipment
Required Skills:
- 3 years’ experience building, configuring and managing Windows workstation and Servers.
- 1-3 years of database and network administration experience.
- Demonstrable experience with Windows system setup and management for both physical and virtual Operating Systems (OS), including provisioning, configuration, patching and platform securing or hardening.
- Demonstrable experience creating and managing virtual environments.
- Scripting experience (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Perl) Experience with Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration and Group Policy creation.
- Experience with infrastructure design, including networking protocols and data redundancy.
- Experience with database support and network administration.
- Experience configuring and maintaining network infrastructure.
- Experience creating charts and graphs in in a spreadsheet.
- Create, update and maintain technical documentation, manuals and IT policies.
- Customer service experience and orientation, and attention to detail.
- Provide superior customer service; possess strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills in a dynamic environment.
Education/Certifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, electronics, engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
Security + CE required within 90 days of onboarding.
MCSE a plus
