Job purpose

The Kubernetes/DevOps Engineer is responsible for developing codified application deployment environments ensuring repeatability, stability, and security. The role is a member of an agile development team with work prioritized by the product manager and cloud architect. As Kubernetes Engineer you will be responsible for the selection and implementation of tools and processes which enable rapid development and deployment of software. Your mission is to embrace continuous integration/deployment in a delivery pipeline that will perform automated quality checks, deploy cloud infrastructure and applications quickly, and provide operational metrics that can be consumed by development teams. An ideal candidate for this role will have a blend of development and operational experience that provides them with a good understanding of the developers they are working with, while also balancing customer satisfaction and maintaining critical systems uptime.

Essential Functions :

1. Develop codified application deployment environments.

2. Analyze, access, input, and retrieve data.

3. Report pertinent information and assist with tasks to support department operations.

4. Develop and maintain a solid understanding of the Client’s products and market.

5. Adhere to established policies and procedures.

6. Ensure Customer Service delivery.

7. Adhere to the Code of Conduct/Ethics and Client’s Core Values.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Document and audit infrastructure design documents, capturing accurate landscape of deployed systems with their network and security controls.
  • Manually & automatically deploy new or existing infrastructure resources to the company hosting accounts.
  • Provision and configure tools to aid the development or monitoring of applications.
  • Present regular status updates and provide cross training to other DevOps team members.
  • Partner with development and operations teams to develop practical automation solutions and custom modules.
  • Troubleshoot automation issues and find practical solutions that move projects forward in a timely manner.
  • Act in responsible manner to control costs while deploying solutions, using best practices for cloud resource management
  • Audit and identify opportunity for continuous improvement in cloud resource security
  • Maintain controls as defined in company policy and in accordance with security team requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Experience:

  • 5 year’s related experience as a Kubernetes/systems administrator in 24X5

uptime environment.

  • Minimum of 5+ year’s system administration experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Kubernetes and security protocols for client/server environment deployed using Cloud based IaaS and PaaS solutions on Windows & Linux platforms
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration of web services
  • Experience with Git version control systems
  • Experience in development with scripting languages
