Who You Are
Our consumers are at the forefront of open science research. You are excited to work on technology that will shape the ways in which research is conducted. You are a proactive, self-starter with an affinity for DevOps culture. You have experience building full stack web applications that wants to join our distributed team. You are interested in building an open, Science-as-a-Service platform designed to run in hybrid cloud environments. You are eager to join a team of software engineers, educators, and domain scientists in a shared mission to scale, integrate and innovate the most challenging scientific workflows so researchers are empowered to be more productive and creative at their science. A successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills with affinity for hands-on learning in a remote work capacity.

This is an exempt Administrator position scheduled to work full-time for up to (2) two years, may be extended based on continued funding. This position is eligible for participation in our health and welfare benefits and our supplemental retirement plan.

Responsibilities
  • Build and support highly available, secure and scalable environments
  • Maintain and support infrastructure for all environments
  • Build and deploy CI/CD processes
    Interact and collaborate with researchers nationally and internationally to build a better platform for science
Required Qualifications
  • 1 – 3 years of experience as a full stack web developer.
  • Programming experience with php, python, node or other web programming languages.
  • Programming experience with angular, react, or other front-end frameworks.
  • Familiarity with software and security development life-cycles
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with Linux containers (Docker, rkt, Singularity, cri-o)
  • Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies
  • Programming experience with Java or golang

Additional desired qualifications (training provided)

  • Experience with an infrastructure automation tool such as Terraform, Ansible, and AWS Cloud Formation.
  • Experience with Linux server administration
  • Familiarity with high performance computing.
  • Experience writing publications for journals and presenting work at conferences.
  • Familiarity with scientific workflows and pipeline automation

This is a Limited Term 2-Year Contract Appointment with opportunity to extend contingent on grant funding.
