We are currently working remotely in the UK and successful candidates can expect a mixture of remote working while being close to either Brighton or Cambridge

Linguamatics (An Iqvia Company) are now looking for a junior DevOps Engineer to take a key role in the delivery of Linguamatics' SaaS platform and in supporting our software development lifecycle. Based out of Linguamatics’ Cambridge, UK, office, with options for UK remote working, this varied and demanding hands-on role covers a wide range of DevOps and systems operations functions.

  • Charter to automate, e.g. through Infrastructure as Code, by developing self-service systems or through implementing auto-scaling/self-healing systems 
  • Remotely configure and maintain networking, storage and compute infrastructure at our existing data center and office locations 
  • Contribute to infrastructure modernization program, including migration to public cloud where appropriate 
  • Assist with day-to-day operation, monitoring and up-keep of Development, Staging and Production environments 
  • Create, update and maintain documentation surrounding our practices and procedures 
  • Support our internal Professional Services team 
  • Interaction with development teams to help inform new product features and bug fixes 
  • Participate in on-call rota providing out-of-hours cover 
  • A desire to become an expert in all technologies supporting the delivery of Privacy Analytics’ products and services 
  • Enthusiasm for the DevOps approach 
  • Experience of Microsoft Windows Server and ecosystem, e.g. Active Directory 
  • Familiarity with Unix-like operating systems, e.g. GNU/Linux or macOS 
  • Scripting/programming skills in a relevant language, e.g. Powershell, Python 
  • Demonstrable knowledge of networking protocols and security: e.g. routing, IPSEC, firewalls, IDS/IDP, naming services 
  • Experience of traditional full virtualization stack or public/private Cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure, OpenStack) 
  • Critical thinker with exceptional troubleshooting skills 
  • Good degree or postgraduate qualification in an IT-related subject, equivalent IT certification or commercial experience 
  • Awareness of infosec standards and data privacy regulations would be an advantage 
  • Clear and effective written communicator
