Jr. UX/UI Designer (Remote)

Position Summary 

We're looking for a Junior UX/UI Designer to join the Health Services design team working on COVID-19 testing efforts. The Junior UX/UI Designer will support senior UX team members in creating prototypes, page designs, conducting user research, and preparing work for presentation / approval by leadership. This is a great opportunity to learn on a very fast-paced team doing high-impact work.

Qualifications 

Required: 

• Hands on experience with wireframing and prototyping tools (Sketch, Invision)

• Good understanding of user-centered design philosophy and process 

• Strong attention to detail and a passion for organization 

Preferred: 

 • Experience with process implementation and file management

Responsibilities: 

• Create prototypes and page designs for usability testing and production

• Support senior team members with wireframes and maintaining consistent, up-to-date files

• Collaborate with copy, UX/UI and accessibility designers to produce work that is compliant with our brand, copy, and accessibility guidelines

• Conduct user research under supervision of senior team members

Required Experience 

1-2 years of experience in UX/UI design 

Desired Experience 

Experience designing accessible interfaces that adhere to WCAG guidelines

Education

Required: 

HS Diploma or GED

Preferred: 

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Human Factors or similar degree

Additionally

• Will be working on the COVID testing team having a direct impact on the pandemic
• Both UX and UI (visual design) skills are required
• This is a great opportunity to grow professionally within a very mature UX team with high-performing team members
• We will have a strong preference for people passionate for detail and with strong organizational skills.
• While we are all working remotely for the foreseeable future, candidates willing and able to travel to the Cumberland, RI office once COVID ends are preferred (but not required).
• These will all be 6-month contracts on paper but are expected to extend longer. Our Health Services team is growing rapidly and right in the center of the company's focused areas of growth.
• While we cannot promise contract to perm, there is a good chance that strong performers will be offered FTE roles. Most of our contractors have converted.
