About us

Planes is a digital product studio, started by two friends who liked making great products together. Taking our various experiences building and growing startups we have built a studio that is helping all sorts of people, from international fin-tech providers, launch new apps to startups building their MVPs. A nimble team, we work collaboratively to produce work that we are proud of and our clients love.

The Project

You'll be working on a greenfield community platform alongside an incredible team of 2-3 other developers, 1 designer, and 1 PM. You'll be working across mobile, web, and backend, although we will tailor the work to your skills if required.

Due to COVID we are working fully remote, however, we expect that towards the end of the contract we'd start to intermittently work from our office in Hoxton, so ideally you'd be London based. We find we do our best work when we are able to collaborate and solve problems together. Also, work is a whole load more enjoyable when shared!

This project sits Outside IR35.

We are hoping to start at the beginning of March and will be an initial 3-month contract, however likely to continue on beyond.

Tech

Although we don't require you have experience in all of our tech-stack, good experience with React is the only 'must', since it is usually the biggest piece of the puzzle. We use:

  • React
  • React Native
  • React Native Web
  • AppCenter
  • Fastlane
  • Node.js
  • GraphQL
  • Postgres
  • Typescript
  • AWS (Lambda and CI/CD)
  • GitHub Actions
  • eslint/prettier

If you are interested, please send us through your CV/portfolio/GitHub/side projects along with a short cover letter about who you are and what you are into.
