Java Full-Stack Developer - Securities Trading (Remote)

Hamrick Recruiting has a client needing a Java Full-Stack Developer in securities trading. This will be a full-time, 11-month contract opportunity. This will be a W2 contract role with possible extension.

NOTE: It is required for the Java developer to have prior experience working on software/technology for ITP (Institutional Trade Processing) or securities trading or Order Matching, Trade Settlement, etc.

All candidates presented must know that when hired for the role that they will be started out working remotely initially due to COVID-19 with DTCC offices closed but that they must be expected to work onsite (Jersey City) in the office once offices reopen.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Analysis of project requirements and development of technical specifications for Trade
  • Matching & Agreement project work.
  • Application Design
  • Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives.
  • Prepares functional process charts.
  • Prepares system flow charts and logic diagrams.
  • Translates functional requirements into technical requirements and design.
  • Participate in the design of new systems.
  • Application Development: Codes new systems.
  • Writes new programs, working with basic applications systems designs and specifications and utilizing standard procedures and techniques
  • Enhances system performance
  • Provides application and user support and performs troubleshooting
  • Provides production support as necessary Testing
  • Defines criteria for testing
  • Develops test cases, scenarios, and scripts to ensure application quality
  • Creates test transactions and runs component, assembly, and system tests for conformance to standards and herence to design specifications
  • Prepares the test environment
  • Reviews test results to ensure they meet expected results and presents results
  • Conforms with quality assurance test standards Documentation
  • Designs and develops technical procedures and documentation for the user describing the installation, use, and customization of products and services using the most appropriate delivery mechanism (e.g. hardcopy, hypertext, online help)
  • Understands the user's view of the application or technology and is able to put procedures into a logical sequence


Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in application development and systems analysis
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or related experience
    Excellent knowledge of Software Implementation Lifecycle (SILC), Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL, Java, XML, Oracle 10g/11g, Linux: Redhat, CentOS
  • IBM ODM is a plus.
