Java Developer Leeds (Remote Working) Up to £360 Daily Rate (Inside IR35) Contract until end of Jan 2021
Our client, a public sector organisation in Leeds are seeking an experienced Java Developer to join their team. They are working on a project to upgrade their in-house system to use Java 11.
The developer will be required to: *Set up a local Blackboard environment to carry out testing and development work. *Review the results of the testing already carried out and confirm any issues reported. *Determine which issues must be fixed prior to the upgrade. *Carry out any fixes to the Java code to ensure successful upgrade of the Blackboard system. *Produce artefacts (compiled code) for the building blocks *Documenting existing Java code to provide the existing team with a detailed understanding of it. *Provide minor changes to Java as required during the project. *Work with other developers (not Java) within the team to move to a new Blackboard platform *Participate in project meetings
The successful Java Developer is required to: *Have significant development experience with Java 11/8 *Have significant experience of the Java Spring Framework *Demonstrable experience in customising and testing Java codes, ensuring any issues are resolved *Experience with system development (Blackboard Learn is ideal, or Moodle) *Recent public sector experience is a MUST (Local/ Central Government, Higher Education or NHS)
Please note, this role falls in scope of IR35 so the appointed Java Developer will be required to work via an FCSA accredited Umbrella Company.
