This new role is with a key public sector organization in Edinburgh. This organisation is looking for an experienced Java Developer on a 6-month contract with a rate of up to £450pd (outside IR35). The role will be fully remote initially however, it is expected that the candidate will be on-site in the future so being within commuting distance is essential.
Your new role
The role holder will support the continued development & support of the organisation’s products in line with product and architecture road maps. They will demonstrate excellent, sustainable and collaborative software development practice that focuses on delivering reasonable, maintainable and appropriate artefacts. You will join an established agile development team and work on a critical, organisation-wide programme.
What you'll need to succeed
The organisation is looking for an experienced developer with the following skills :
Java 8+
Spring Boot Microservices
Spring Security & OAuth2
JavaScript UI frameworks, e.g React
PostgreSQL
OpenShift
Modern DevOps & CI/CD practices including deployment pipelines, Jenkins and Docker
In addition, the following skills are non-essential but desirable:
AWS Lambda, S3, Aurora/Postgres, API Gateway, CDK
Python 2.7/3
Typescript
