Java Developer
A leading Global Bank currently require a Java Developer for an initial 6 month contract based in Sheffield, paying up to £600 per day.
Project Background
As part of Risk, project Latitude will deliver the capability to run risk models on a large scale batch-basis. Development is required to the existing service in order to allow for data to be fed and run in batch into the existing model execution environment, ensuring data is fed back to the requesting service. The developer needs to work closely with a 3rd party development team and take on system changes for Latitude, as well has gain a wider understanding of the code base to facilitate a transition over to a new development Pod in India. The role will be predominantly based in Sheffield with occasional visits to Cambridge to help obtain knowledge of the application to enable transition of ownership to HSBC. Work with the team in India will be via video conference and webex
Responsibilities
Work in an Agile DevOps environment
Take on ownership of 3rd party developed code base into HSBC
Handover ownership of code development into new India team
Support development of certain code aspects of the Latitude design
Coding and support the test lead
Skills

* Ability to pick-up complex technical work quickly

* JAX-WS programming model
* SOAP over HTTP
* Knowledge of REST and JAX-RS not essential
* XML
* SQL
* IBM Websphere Application Server 7 +
* IBM Rational Application Developer 8 IDE / Eclipse IDE
* SpringSource Tool Suite STS 2.9.2 IDE
* Spring Framework 2.5 + / Configuration files
* Implementing WS-Security, Policy sets and Bindings specifically Kerberos Tokens
* Hibernate
* Caching Technology (Oracle Coherence preferred)
* Aspect Oriented Programming
* Maven
* Enterprise Design Pattern
* Exposure to .Net WCF C#, Visual Studio is ideal but not essential
