Job Title: IT - Systems Administrator II/Application Systems Administrator

Job Location: Herndon VA 20171

Job Description:

This position is for an Application Systems Administrator for the Client

Provide systems administration support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of production, non-production and Disaster Recovery IT systems (application and all associated components).

Specific Duties Include:

The candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining various tasks involved with keeping environments in compliance with the customer’s current security requirements including ATO and DR activities.

Provide hands-on system administration support as part of a team performing moderately complex system maintenance and operations support of services such as application support and upgrades, troubleshooting, certificate generation, workstation support.

Provide general troubleshooting, maintain data files, and monitor system configuration to ensure data integrity

Ensure all support documentation is current

Execute assigned configuration changes on servers

Research difficult issues, identify and document resolutions as necessary.

Incident monitoring and resolution.

Application support, managing deployment packages to workstations and monitoring security vulnerability reports.

Individual Capabilities/Experience Required:

Basic ability to work independently and manage one’s time.

Ability to review security vulnerability reports and suggest required actions.

Knowledge of networking fundamentals

Submitted candidates must have an Associate's degree in computer related field.

Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred.

2-4 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Ability to work on own and as part of group with great attention to detail

Located in the Herndon/Chantilly, VA area

Must be able to obtain and retain a Public Trust Clearance prior to starting work (this can take 6-8 weeks or more)

Microsoft Windows Server-based applications, services and technologies (AD, DHCP, DNS, IIS)

Strong customer service and communications skills

Strong critical thinking skills that facilitate problem solving

Demonstrated teamwork skills

Must be able to work in a demanding environment

Maintain dependable attendance and schedule adherence and be able to work evenings and weekends

Additional skills/Experience:

Knowledge of HP and Dell hardware infrastructure.

Ability to modify scripts as necessary for automation and configuration management using PowerShell is a plus

General Knowledge of Symantec products (Altiris, Endpoint protection)

General Redhat/Linux knowledge

General Database knowledge (Oracle/ SQL)

Knowledge of PIV Credentials and Certificate management

Knowledge of FISMA controls preferred
