A Senior Programme Manager is required to lead a small department consisting of a PMO function, a team of project managers and a team of business analysts each with a nominated lead. This senior role will be responsible for quality and governance of the entire organisation transformation programme enabling the Board to have full transparency on all major change projects.

The postholder will provide portfolio, programme and change management capability in order to drive forward programmes and projects which have been identified to deliver the Council’s change agenda.

The programmes under the management of this post will be the most complex and highest priority ones that the Council is having to deal with, in order to deliver its budget and service priorities.

Pay Rate: £23.91 per hour PAYE

This is a temporary, but possibly long term role.

“Essential Requirements” – Please check to ensure that your CV addresses the following items:

  • Your recent UK working experience going back at least 5 years, or full employment history if you have been working for fewer years than this.
  • Your availability to work either immediately, or at short notice.
  • Qualifications:
    • GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics
    • First Aid Trained
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Ability to communicate effectively both orally & in writing to a wide range of people
    • Ability to use Microsoft packages, in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
    • Ability to organise own workload to meet targets & deadlines
    • Ability to carry out numerical calculations
  • Experience:
    • Logical thinking with creative problem-solving ability
    • Trustworthy and reliable
    • Previous experience in similar role
    • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Self Motivated, Flexible & Resourceful
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages

Anticipated Length of Assignment: All of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis and can sometimes become permanent. This opening assignment is for 5 months.
