To plan, develop, manage and deliver multiple cross cutting projects within budget, in line with the Council’s policies, strategic aims, objectives and priorities.

Manage complex crosscutting assigned projects through approval, implementation and hand-over to service departments.

Maximise efficient utilisation of resources, both human and technical, in delivery of projects, providing regular updates to senior management and all stakeholders.

To develop collaborative working at all levels, co-ordinating and utilising the expertise of professional officers.

Assist in the development of new projects.

Attract new funding and maximise utilisation.

Provide professional support to other project teams across the authority.

Pay Rate: £265.00 per day PAYE

This is a temporary, but possibly long term role.

“Essential Requirements” – Please check to ensure that your CV addresses the following items:

  • Your address (including post code) and a telephone number so that we can reach you during working hours
  • Your recent UK working experience going back at least 5 years, or full employment history if you have been working for fewer years than this.
  • Your availability to work either immediately, or at short notice.
  • PRINCE2 (or similar related) qualification and preferably be educated to degree level with proven experience in delivering projects.
  • Minimum of 12 months recent Project Management experience, preferably within a similar role and ideally within a public sector organisation
  • All-round communication skills, be a team player in general management and a team builder in project teams.
  • Extensive information management skills are essential, together with knowledge of procurement, legal, financial and asset management aspects of delivering projects
  • Fully proficient at using IT systems, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office packages
  • MS project to intermediate level (advanced is preferable)

Anticipated Length of Assignment: All of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis and can sometimes become permanent. This opening assignment is for 12 months.
