British Council 5085881 Interim Business Analyst - Global Payroll - Human Resources/Payroll

A Business Analyst is required to be accountable and responsible for delivery of Business Analysis, understanding the current landscape, and requirements gathering/verification for a new Global Payroll solution. Overseas travel will also be required, and the possibility of unsocial/evening hours whilst travelling.

Duties to include:

  • Providing pre-project analysis, supporting Business Case development, and outlining options to enable effective decision making and authorisations
  • Providing pre-project analysis, supporting RFP development, and outlining options to enable effective decision making in prospective vendor selection
  • Facilitation of demand led business meetings and working with Business Partners to understand the problem statement, undertaking contextual analysis, to ensure that Strategic Business Units (SBU) achieve business benefits through such a solution
  • Supporting the Benefit planning and Realisation process
  • Analysis of existing Payroll contracts at a local/regional level and documenting these clearly where renewal dates are captured
  • Capturing what payroll systems and or solutions exist today at regional/local level and documenting these and ensuring any existing contract renewal dates are captured as well as any limiting terms or contract termination at a local level
  • Understanding Enterprise Architecture technical components with the business priorities that ensure that our resources are deployed appropriately to fulfil approved demand

Pay Rate: £27.31 per hour PAYE

This is a temporary, but possibly long term role.

“Essential Requirements” – Please check to ensure that your CV addresses the following items:

  • Your recent UK working experience going back at least 5 years, or full employment history if you have been working for fewer years than this.

  • Professional Business Analysis or similar business consulting certification, aligned to BCS or IIBA
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Comes from a consulting background, portrays the ability to ask difficult or challenging questions
    • Demonstrates the ability to organise and prioritise tasks to deliver agreed outputs to the required standards, on-time
    • Business Analysis (BUAN) Level 5
    • Requirements definition (REQM) Level 4
    • User Experience Management (UNAN) Level 3
    • Seeks out and examines a range of information to identify patterns, trends and options, to solve multifaceted and complex problems
    • Has a track record of identifying and highlighting risks and suggesting mitigating actions
  • Experience:
    • Multi-year experience of working in a Business Analyst role supporting business change programmes that impact across multiple functions/business areas and regions
    • Understands the ‘soft-side’ of Business Analysis and has experience of communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels
    • Proven leadership experience including developing relationships with different areas of the business, building collaborate relationships and tenacity to drive projects forward
    • Experienced in a least one payroll implementation solution preferably at a global level
    • Producing Analysis documents - Experience providing clear and concise documents
    • Plans and organises own work over weeks and months, taking account of priorities and the impact on other people
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages
  • Overseas travel will also be required, and the possibility of unsocial/evening hours whilst travelling.

Other preferable/desirable details to include on your CV, if applicable:

  • Any local authority/public sector experience
  • Any relevant qualifications held or being studied for
  • BCS Business Analysis Diploma
  • IIBA CBAP or CCBA certified
  • Lean – Green belt
  • Experience of working in a BA role in the not-for-profit, public and private sectors
  • Excellent experience of Microsoft Office (and O365) applications including SharePoint, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Experience of Payroll products and HR technology solutions
  • Stakeholder Relationship Management (RLMT) – Level 4
  • Business Process Improvement (BPRE) – Level 5
  • Change Management (CHMG) – Level 2
  • Pre-project strategic analysis
  • Requirements data capture and analysis
  • Business Process modelling using BPMN or similar
  • Ability to ask difficult questions and clearly articulate in report format back to project team

Anticipated Length of Assignment: All of our roles are technically temporary, though opening assignments can be and often are, extended by clients on a longer term basis and can sometimes become permanent. This opening assignment is for 2-3 months.
