Information Developer / Technical Author.
This role is working a 4 day week and although the role is based in Cambridge and you will be required to be on site fulltime for the first month of the contract you will then have the option to work remotely from home full-time and only be required to go into the Cambridge offices once every 6 weeks.
This role requires an experience Technical Writer who has exceptional skills and ability to write very technical content which will be used by Developers, Engineers and Architects.
The ideal candidate will have exposure to electronics, the architecture of hardware, knowledge of how chips work and have a grasp on the concept of development.
You will be working in a large team of Information Developers/Writers who are responsible for producing and maintaining customer-facing technical content for all the company products, including documentation, user assistance and multimedia.
You will apply content models by using DITA CMS, XML, HTML, Markdown or other content creation tools, you will be accountable for autogenerated from source code and the instructional design of web or video tutorials.
What will you be responsible for?
- You will work with engineers, product managers, customer support and sales to gather requirements and plan content deliverables

Build technical understanding of the products so that you can write effectively

Perform content reviews

Implement continuous improvements to content

Effectively switch between content projects with minimal impact to milestones or content quality
Essential skills and personal attributes:
- Experienced information developer / Technical Writer / Technical Author, with a proven track record of writing content for global audiences.

Working with structured based content

Very good understanding of the documentation production cycle.

Be degree educated from either Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Maths, Information Development etc

Experience using Graphic Tools

Doxygen or similar tools

Platform bring-up and hardware and software integration

Very good knowledge of industry standard tools and technologies, with the ability to learn and adapt, for example:
- Technical writing tools, Content management systems, Vector graphics tools, Multimedia authoring tools, Version control systems, Eclipse, Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA) methodology
