Role: IBM Planning Analytics Consultant
Location: Nashville, Tennessee (Remote to start)
Duration: 6+-12 months with extension

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide advanced technical leadership in the development or support of major business systems. Apply systems solutions to business/technical problems through customer interactions. Collaborate with business partners, specialists, architects and suppliers to determine project scope, goals and ensure applications standards are met.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities vary, but may include various combinations of the following duties.

1. Provide advanced technical systems support, including problem identification and resolution and integration of technical solutions.

2. Leads and mentors on established development and support processes, including but not limited to, System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) or related methodologies.

3. Leads discussions with business partners to gather requirements for technical solutions and troubleshoots system related issues.

4. Provides demonstrated leadership and support to projects including, task planning, execution and delivery of commitments.

5. Leads multiple projects with varying level of complexity that may span multiple functional areas.

6. Works within objectives and instructions for use in designing, testing and documentation.

7. Identifies and works to automate tasks and processes with scripting and automation tools.

8. Meets the quality standards set forth by management.

9. Stays current with industry trends and technologies (e.g. certifications, industry groups, etc.).

10. Ensure availability when necessary for off-shift and weekend support functions.

11. Incorporates enterprise security standards into functional area.

12. Architects and designs technical solutions to meet business objectives.

13. Participates in accomplishment of continuous improvement objectives for the department. Progress toward accomplishment of these is measured through maintenance of necessary measurements and analysis of associated data. Participates in the identification of problem areas and development of resolutions to address them.

14. Understands the Harassment policy of the company and is responsible for its application in all aspects of employment.

Qualifications

1. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, technical guidance, mentor team members and work independently or as part of a team.

2. Demonstrated ability to communicate future direction with leadership.

3. Strong knowledge of relevant business processes and their relationship to systems.

4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

5. Advanced knowledge of and ability to independently apply SDLC, ITSM or related methodologies.

6. Working ability to independently manage multiple complex tasks and participate on multiple projects.

7. Advanced knowledge of and ability to independently apply two or more programming and/or scripting languages (e.g. Java, .NET, SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell, Bash, etc.).

8. Strong ability and willingness to learn new technologies.

9. Demonstrated ability to design and develop technical systems strategy for core business procedures and operations.

10. Strong demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and recommend process changes that improve the overall implementation, maintenance and support of applications and/or technical infrastructure.

11. Fully knowledgeable of the relevant programming languages, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage and internal systems and cross platform infrastructure components. Ability to provide training on these topics for others.

12. Demonstrated ability to do performance tuning of complex application architecture.

13. Strong knowledge of and ability to apply basic math and data analysis skills.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Experience required in IBM Planning Analytics (TM1), Linux, GIT and Basic Scripting. A 4-year college or university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 5 to 7 years of enterprise technology experience is recommended. Equivalent experience may be substituted for education.
