Graphic Designer (PT/Contract) (Remote)

Candidates for this contractor role can work remotely from their home office within the continental United States.

Position Description:

Do you obsess about how to tell stories with images? Do you relish making beautiful graphics? Are you proficient across a range of project types from brand identity to infographics to graphics for mobile platforms?

Scientific Learning is looking for a part-time contract graphic designer with 3-5 years of experience who has a creative mind and a passion for graphic design, storytelling, infographics, and typography in online and offline mediums.

Responsibilities:

You will work closely with the Scientific Learning marketing team to create digital assets that are strongly aligned with, and push the boundaries of the overall look and feel of our brands across channels (parents, educators, clinical professionals), while assisting with other marketing functions as needed.

Example projects include:

  • Design web page layouts and advertising landing pages
  • Develop compelling visual displays for information shared at conferences/tradeshows and in print (PPT templates, event logos, print collateral, event banners)
  • Design brochures and flyers for print and digital use
  • Create compelling infographics that clearly communicate complex stories and school successes
  • Creating brand guidelines
  • Manage Scientific Learning’s graphic assets
  • Design and create PDF assets from online content

Qualifications:

  • Graphics Skills
  • BA/BS preferred
  • 3-5 years of graphic design experience minimum
  • You have a strong online portfolio of print, digital, and brand design work that demonstrates stylistic breadth
  • Knowledge of design for email marketing, including email template creation
  • Exceptional typography and attention to detail
  • Experience communicating and getting feedback on design ideas in prototypes before committing to hi res design work
  • Advanced Photoshop skills; proficiency with other Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)
  • Experience balancing file size and image quality for web (mobile + desktop) publishing, emailed PDFs, and print
  • Knowledge of best practices for digital publishing design & layout
  • Clear understanding, ability to interpret and design infographics
  • Knowledge of capabilities and limitations of HTML
  • Basic understanding of JavaScript and CSS

Occasionally moves equipment weighing up to 30 pounds.

The work environment is indoors and is usually quiet to moderate noise.
