Spring Technology's client, a public sector organisation, are currently looking to recruit a Graphic Designer for an initial 1 month contract based in Edinburgh on a rate of c.£200-250/day (inside of IR35).
Responsibilities:
Design content typography, layouts, interactive elements, and propose design solutions for end to end service experiences across multiple channels (by planning, designing and creating infographics to communicate users experiences. This could include user journey maps, service blueprints, story boards, service moments, service propositions and artefacts for co-design workshops.
Collaborate with service and content designers and using a variety of static and dynamic methods, prototype and validate design ideas.
Choose appropriate technology and outputs, for example, paper size, weight.
Work with user researchers to understand and champion the needs of users and promote accessible and inclusive design.
Understand constraints and communicate these and work within them.
Ensuring standards are being met, particularly for accessible and inclusive design.
Develop presentations (and associated media) to capture and share user research insights, recommendations, and user needs
Support the preparation and facilitation of co-design workshops.
Working collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and responding to general requests from stakeholders.
Requirements:
Experience of undertaking graphic design projects for digital service design.
Demonstrates the ability to choose appropriate methods to communicate visually for different design life cycle phases and situations.
Demonstrable ability to communicate actionable user insights and experience, working with and influencing design and delivery teams to ensure that these are embedded in design thinking.
Ability to develop successful, strategic relationships with colleagues, citizens, users, and other stakeholders based upon a commitment to collaborative working towards improved performance and results.
Experience of working with service designers and digital systems developers to critique and develop design thinking based on evidence of user needs.
