Company Description

GRID LLC is a unique cannabis-focused startup that was founded in 2020 and is based in Boston, MA. GRID is seeking to provide medical and recreational cannabis users with an individualized cannabis experience, delivered to their home. Grid is entering the final stages of beta testing for its proprietary website and phone app and is seeking an experienced Graphic Designer/Illustrator to create high-quality artwork for our digital and print media publications. This would be considered a GROUND FLOOR role and the person who is brought on would have an opportunity to remain beyond the internship period, based on her or his performance. This would be an ideal position for someone who is seeking meaningful work experience to distinguish himself or herself in the job market, or would-be entrepreneurs who want to see what it really takes to start and build a new venture.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts or Graphic Design
  • Portfolio of completed work
  • Prior work experience as an illustrator, graphic designer, or similar
  • Proficiency in image editing and design such as Adobe Illustrator
  • Drawing, painting, and digital drawing skills

Primary Responsibilities and Opportunities

The Graphic Designer/Illustrator will be responsible for creating high-quality artwork for our digital and print media publications. The Designer will be responsible for working closely with our CEO/COO and Operational Staff to develop inspiring artwork that will attract our target audience. She or he will be responsible for formulating concepts, rendering draft illustrations from written words, models, sketched ideas, and from their own imagination. The Associate will take part in the creation of new marketing campaigns, brainstorming with the marketing and design team to come up with new image ideas, creating complete illustrations, and creating design concepts using a variety of graphics.

This position will have the opportunity to be exposed to different ventures across a variety of industries and have the opportunity to work and interact closely with entrepreneurs, vendors, and members of the management team.

Special Requirements

This position will not require commuting to an office; almost all work will be conducted remotely, however, the ideal candidate should be located in the Boston area. Since the position will not require in person meetings, the ability to work independently and communicate effectively via email, phone and SMS is essential.

Commitment

The Designer must be able to commit through August 15th.

Compensation

The Designer will be provided with a stipend depending on performance and amount of work. However, beyond compensation, this position presents a unique and meaningful learning opportunity for entrepreneurial candidates who want to see how new businesses and SMEs are started and grown.

Timing

We are seeking to fill this position by June 30th, 2020.
