Full Stack Developer (Part time, Remote)

At Flexable, our mission is to make Life + Work Fit. Flexable offers virtual childcare, and engaging and enriching hosted online kids’ activities, for kids ages 3 – 10. We offer 1:1 care and group activities for small groups of 5 - 6 users, called Virtual MiniCamps. All our offerings are online, interactive, and led by Flexable’s background checked and vetted hosts. Sessions are up to 60 minutes in length and are designed to be booked on-demand, when and where parents need it to get work done or take a break. Our goal is to seamlessly provide working parents with nimble, safe, and engaging online childcare services.

Who are we looking for?

Flexable is rapidly expanding and in need of someone who is comfortable with both front and back end programming and can produce scalable software solutions for our young company. You’ll be responsible for the full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

The best fit for this role will be someone creative and pragmatic, willing and excited to learn new things, and who takes the initiative to do so. This role is fairly autonomous but works closely with the COO, CEO and other advisors to scope the work and determine how best to support the growing business.

We are a start-up and leaders need to both enjoy working in a professional services environment and need to have a track record of managing in ambiguity with creativity, translating a vision into a plan, and executing independently with focus against that plan.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Build robust, performant, user-facing web applications in Python/Django
• Work as an integral part of our team to deliver an unbelievably great user experience
• Contribute to product management decisions as well as engineering
• Deliver responsive, accessible, mobile-friendly code of high quality (automated test/build/deploy)

Qualifications:

Education and Experience (Required):

• BS in Computer Science or scientific field (engineering, physics), or experience as a software engineer or developer
• Experience with: Implementing HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Python and Python Web Frameworks, particularly Django
• Design and development of sophisticated, cloud-hosted, modern web applications and services
• Thorough understanding of user experience
• Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL preferred)
• Must be based in the U.S. and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred:

• Experience using web services and RESTful APIs
• Experience deploying on the Google or AWS cloud
• Experience with Selenium testing
• Proficient understanding of Git version control system
• Experience with agile development processes
