Summary:

Our China Products team is growing, and we are looking to hire two experienced software engineers to assist with continued product enhancements. We are seeking to hire engineers who either have extensive experience using PHP, JavaScript, or both! If you consider yourself an expert in either of these programming languages, and are looking for an opportunity to leverage your existing skills while also broadening your tech-stack, we strongly encourage you to apply. 

In these roles, you will leverage your frontend, backend, or full stack expertise while using cutting-edge technology to build and improve our products' web platform. These products help children in China develop a strong foundation for academic success learning English and other crucial skills. Regardless of whether you are working on the front-end or the back-end, your contributions to our international product success will be paramount in helping our product team and end-users achieve their goals. This role is remote to start due to COVID-19.

Responsibilities:

  • Object-oriented development within Age of Learning Web Services platform
  • Development of web apps (admin tools) with Age of Learning JS.
  • Discover the Web Services needs on projects
  • Design static endpoints and agree on a contract with your consumers
  • Develop functional endpoints against a strong set of coding and documentation standards and conventions
  • Design and implement performant database schemas to support new and changed functionality
  • Solve complex problems with simple architectural solutions
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Great communication and collaboration skills in a team environment
  • JavaScript ES2020; knowledge of web components a plus
  • PHP 7, PHPUnit, Composer, Postman/Swagger
  • Docker, MySQL, Document Databases, HTML, CSS
  • Experience working with high traffic applications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Preferred qualifications

  • Familiarity with Golang
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field
