About the role:
We're looking for a highly skilled frontend developer in our Seattle office to join one of the fastest growing pet lifestyle brands in the US. With experience in both Shopify and broader, frontend development, our ideal candidate will craft our online store with custom code and template modifications, integrate and configure third party applications, and perform stringent QA before launching. Plus, you can bring your pup along for the ride.
Here’s a quick rundown of responsibilities:
- Acting as Zee.Dog’s resident Shopify expert, specializing in all facets of the eCommerce platform
- Work closely with the eCommerce team to translate mockups to our Shopify theme
- Monitor and manage the workflow of development projects to ensure delivery by deadlines set.
- Manage and take responsibility for the development team workload, carefully planning tasks, monitoring execution, managing expectations and communication with the wider business
- Understanding project requirements with minimal assistance
- Researching, customizing, and implementing third-party add-ons, plugins, and other integrations
- Collaborating with the UX and UI design teams to produce seamless, robust, and innovative front-end user experiences
- Generating custom-tailored Shopify themes, and altering pre-existing templates
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously, and be able to address their specific needs and requirements at a moment's notice
- Understanding business needs that drive project features & functions and provide internal feedback
About you:
- Must have a passion for web development
- 2+ years experience with Git, CSS, HTML, and React / Vue or other frameworks
- 1+ years experience with Shopify and Liquid
- Passion for dogs (and cats) is a plus

- Superb troubleshooting & debugging skills
- A disciplined approach to testing and quality assurance
- Understanding of SEO best practices and how that translates to code
- Must be able to communicate and work effectively individually and on global teams
- Great organization skills
- Positive attitude, high energy, and love for broadening web development skill set
- Bonus points for speaking Portuguese (not a requirement)
