BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Front-End Software Engineer to work on a multi-disciplinary team in an Agile, fast-paced development environment on a cutting-edge, advanced dual headed web application. The qualified candidate will participate in the User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) strategy, architecture, implementation, test, and deployment for software systems. Your keen eye and your passion for creating top-notch UX/UI's will make you a key member on the team, and you will provide valuable subject-matter expertise to our customers and to our stakeholders. As a Front-End Software Engineer you will be part of Electronic Systems (ES), the global innovator behind BAE Systems’ game-changing defense and commercial electronics.

* Remote work is not available for this role, this will be an onsite position located in Bellevue, NE
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field 2+ years of actual work experience in the area of UX/UI development Must have at least an active Secret clearance and be able to obtain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, Node, unit testing frameworks (Jasmine/Karma or similar) and CSS Enjoy building UI's with modern tools and standards like Angular, React, Redux, CesiumJS, Webpack, NodeJS, and ES6 Understanding of common UI application methodologies such as Websockets, Local Storage, AJAX and Single Page Applications Familiarity with UI related design patterns such as Model-View-Controller (MVC) and Publisher-Subscriber Strong analytical and debugging skills Excellent communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Willingness to participate in multiple functions beyond just ‘programming’ – architectural input, small teams lead, test engineer support Experience developing RESTful services using web technologies Understanding of Micro-Services using 12 Factor design principles Experience with full-stack development (Java, .NET, and/or C++) Experience with WebLogic and relational databases, such as Oracle Experience developing under Linux OS’s Comfortable with Stash and Git An active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is preferred but not required
