Front End Software Engineer (Remote)

Overview:

Sprinting for MVP to hit our go-to-market timeline, Numuni is looking to onboard a contract-based Software Engineer to spearhead UI/UX on cross-platform and web based applications. You’ll engineer for usability, maintainability and performance to deliver a pleasant experience to our consumers and B2B publishers. You will interface directly with the CTO and lay the foundation for the business to launch a strong MVP.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Build Front End web and cross-platform Javascript applications including a simplified launcher, affiliate portal and other mission critical UI/UX
  • Collaborate with backend engineers; write, test, and deploy code that integrates with real-time data streams and API endpoints spanning various microservices
  • Utilize error monitoring and assist triage of bugs and solving issues in production environments
  • Learn and use new web technologies
  • Review code and have your code reviewed
  • Mentor and be mentored by other engineers and peers
  • Work with high autonomy closely with the CTO to meet MVP deadlines

What You Ideally Have:

  • 3+ years of practical experience writing client-side JavaScript
  • 1+ years experience with React and Redux, VueJS, Lodash, and/or CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS
  • Expertise building responsive layouts with CSS and HTML on both web and native applications
  • Experience building and debugging complex systems in both individual and team environments
  • Experience with modern browser technologies
  • Strong UX and design sensibilities and an interest in the small details
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Self-awareness, humility, a positive attitude, an open-source mentality, a sense of humor, and empathy

Bonus Points If You Have Experience With:

  • Typescript or other transcompiler based Javascript languages
  • WebSockets, Local Storage, or ES6
  • Accessibility, internationalization, or localization
  • The Git workflow, including pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD systems
  • Error monitoring tooling experience, such as Sentry
  • Experience in graphic design with knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign, and other graphic design software
