Job Description
As a Senior Front End Developer at the Cabinet Office you will be expected to take a shared responsibility in supporting web development and delivery of a new service
This is a hands-on role with a high degree of complexity and a lot of moving pieces to fit together so communication is essential to ensure nothing is missed.
You will be depended upon to be pro-active, working and collaborating with the existing team to deliver success and will spend time on the following:
-Continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software and customer value as early as possible.
-Collaborating on the creation of large client-side applications using React
-Efficiently and effectively utilising DevOps tools and practices to build and deploy software
-Taking part in the entire cycle of software delivery from ideation to deployment
-Being mostly hands-on, you'll also participate to the team's agile rituals and technical architecture decisions
Specific Skills/Experience RequiredEssential:
-4 years+ experience in React / Javascript on mid to large size applications, particularly in state management
-Python, Redux, Git and Git processes
-Test Driven Development experience using test frameworks such as jest, cypress or Selenium
-Can write high-quality, well-tested code, following shared conventions
-CI and Clean code champion
-Comfortable working in different environments and approaches (eg Agile Scrum and Kanban, Waterfall and hybrid)
Desirable:
-Typescript, CSS, REST
-AWS Lambda Cloudformation, dynamoDB, Cognito, Jenkins
-Working knowledge of cloud technology such as AWS, Docker or Service Fabric
-Experience in setting up contract testing practices
-Experience of different test phases as well continuous testing in an Agile/DevOps environment (eg unit, system, SIT, regression, smoke, etc)
-Exposure to working in a cross functional team environment
Willingness to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities as required by the business
