esure Group are currently looking for a Finance Applications Developer to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract basis.
The successful Finance Applications Developer will be responsible for the day to day functional support of Oracle Financials and the functional and technical design of our finance platform as well as it’s interfaces from the Oracle based call centre application (TIA).
What you'll do:
Day to day functional support of Oracle Financials modules including (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, General Ledger, Cash Management, Purchasing) and other related processes Provide ongoing support and development of the Oracle Financials platform, Oracle Discoverer & Excel4Apps to enable all areas of Finance to deliver business needs on a daily basis Work alongside Support Desk, creating new users, administering access rights & licenses Responsible for delivering end user training Work with technical Developers and Database Analysts for functional and technical design of changes To test solutions ensuring deliverables reflect the planned business requirements. Working with senior managers to undertake a review of all current processes, systems and controls within the business to identify any potential enhancement that could be made. Functional and technical problem investigation and resolution (including PLSQL, SQL, Discoverer, Oracle Workflow, Excel4Apps) Produce month end and year end journals required for Oracle monthly data-fixes Produce month end and year end extracts required for Financial Reporting Job Requirements What we are looking for:
Significant experience of Financial accounting processes and procedures A proven functional & technical knowledge of the following Oracle Financials applications and the processes they support is essential: General Ledger FSG Reporting Chart of Accounts design and implementation Payables Purchasing Assets Receivables Cash Management Concurrent Manager Oracle Reports Oracle XML Publisher Oracle Workflow Experience of Oracle BI Discoverer-Plus Administration, particularly End User Layer design and maintenance. Interface design & understanding of Oracle Apps data structures particularly Receivables, Payables, Cash Management, General Ledger journal and external systems using Oracle Apps open interfaces and APIs Experience of building complex PL/SQL modules in large Oracle environments. Experience in writing UNIX shell scripts Demonstrated evidence of working within the full system development lifecycle process including code review and liaising with internal teams Extensive use of IDE’s, such as TOAD, for both development and maintenance of code modules Extensive working knowledge of implementation technologies and tools. These will include UNIX, configuration management tools such as Eclipse, Winscp, Putty, database design tools and the standard MS Office toolset. Experience of estimating application changes based on brief system requirements Strong analytical and numerical skills.
