Job Description

The Graphic Designer position is responsible for creating compelling designs and cohesive user experiences for both print and web. In collaboration with others on the team, responsibilities include creating website/landing pages, direct mail pieces, marketing collateral, promotional banners, email templates and other online/offline marketing materials for a wide spectrum of interactive and integrated marketing programs, including email, responsive web design, print marketing, trade shows and branding programs.

This role entails taking detailed instructions from clients which requires a strong listening ability and the ability to understand detailed written instructions. Must love deadline driven environments. You’ll be expected to generate your own ideas and designs, as well to consistently contribute to clients ideas, thoughts & projects and in some cases update designs or revise a file created by another team member with stringent deadlines.

It will be expected for you to consistently generate new ideas, create, implement and manage operational processes & strategies related to your workflow, as well as keeping the client up-to-date with changes/trends/insights related to your focus/expertise when they arise. Also, you’ll be expected to have the ability to successfully pick-up unplanned projects on the fly as they come up.
Other duties and responsibilities include; participating in “New Assignment Calls” assisting in new branding initiatives, researching competitors to make adjustments when necessary, staying up to date on industry trends, always having an energetic attitude that generates creative ideas, perform well under deadlines and meet client in office 1 day a week for directions and immediate revisions.

This position requires a compelling portfolio and the ability to create engaging media (responsive web, print and mobile) the willingness to research, study and develop the best designs in the world.

Any candidate to be considered must have at least the following minimum skills:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in graphic design for print and web
  • Hands-on experience creating high-end graphics and layouts for web, email and print using Adobe Creative Suite (CS6 (Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Flash)
  • Experience with HTML 5, CSS 3, responsive design and cross-browser/OS compatibility concepts
  • Desirable, but not required, are other scripts/languages you may bring to the table such as JQuery, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of latest SEO standards and techniques is a big plus
  • Good understanding of UI/UX design methodologies and best practices
  • Out-of-the-box thinking to conceptualize highly engaging, cutting-edge digital content and web properties to boost user engagement and lead generation
  • Technical aptitude with the ability to understand how technical solutions work and translate that into compelling graphics that tell a story.
  • Highly motivated, driven, self-starting individual that works well on their own and on a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, hard deadline deliveries, high growth environment
  • Great written and oral communication skills

Job Duties:

  • Draft mockups of website designs, brochures, iconography, and any other marketing materials required
  • Collaborate with marketing teams and management to discuss which mockups are effective, and use their feedback to develop final drafts
  • Revise the work of previous designers to create a unified aesthetic for our brand materials
  • Work on multiple projects at once, and consistently meet draft deadlines
  • Communicate frequently with clients to update them on the progress of the project and to answer any questions they might have
