Role : ETL/Scala Software Engineer
Location : Washington DC
Duration : 12+ Month
Rate: $55/HR on C2C
Job Details:
The project has two distinct groups - ETL and Runtime.
ETL - System which ingests files from upstream sources, processes the files, stores data in a NoSQL DB and finally builds SOLR indexes that will eventually be consumed by Content Discovery (Search and Browse) runtime applications.
Runtime – A more complex system which is built on microservices architecture. On any given day we process about 1.5 billion requests with an expected SLA of 500ms / query.
Responsibilities:
- Design and build features / bug fixes including coding, unit testing and also contributing to automation tests.
- Build / maintain scripts to deploy and maintain components in dev and production environments
- Attend scrum / sprint planning
- Periodic on call rotations
- Strong in Java and Scala programming language
- Strong in Data Structures
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience in NoSQL DBs
- Experience in AWS
- Experience in automation / tooling around application deployment / maintenance.
- Good communication skills
- Punctuality in meeting deadlines
- Ability to learn technology / domain quickly
Currently we are in a remote working mode due to the ongoing pandemic. Once the office reopens, we expect the person to be in the office.
There will be 3 to 4 rounds of technical interviews with each session about 1 – 1.5 hours long. Candidates are expected to be available via video conferencing and be able to write code during the interview.
