Job Description:

• Work with development teams on design, modeling, and implementation of data pipelines utilizing Kafka messaging and Elastic search data store. Your priority is ensuring the platforms remain stable, reliable, and available.

Responsibilities:

• Production support of Kafka and Elastic search
• Install, configure, administer, and support multiple Kafka clusters and Elastic search clusters
• Perform maintenance and troubleshooting. Key participant in capacity planning and growth projections
• Support application deployments to production including performance and functional testing.
• Define and implement backup and archival strategies per data retention requirements
• Automate routine tasks with scripts
• Monitor and maintain system health and ensure efficient operation
• Work with cross functional teams planning, modeling, and implementing solutions utilizing Kafka and Elastic search technologies

Education

• BS in Computer Science and/or equivalent work experience required

Knowledge/Skills

• Familiarity with ELK stack and Kafka clusters
• Extensive UNIX/Linux background
• Coding skills with at least one of following

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of Unix proficiency required
• 4+ years of hands on experience installing, configuring, and administering SQL and/or NoSql databases required
• Recent experience with ELK stack and/or Kafka preferred

Experience:

• Elasticsearch: 1 year (Preferred)
