You'll be taking on responsibility for the entirety of the engineering/QA function, with communication being key to being successful in this position. Being able to set the vision across all teams and have everybody pulling in the same direction is going to be key to your success as a Director of Engineering.
As you'll have already figure out, this role is a pretty big deal! As such your experience of leading an expansive team of, say, 60 or more is going to be pivotal in allowing you to hit the ground running.
You will, of course, have come from an engineering background on during your lofty climb to Director of Engineering and as such will be confident talking about current technical landscapes, using this knowledge to ensure quality output to deadlines.
