The Cloud Services personnel provide consulting, infrastructure build, and native application development capabilities. We seek to build a practice that provides infrastructure migration, network and data center management, and full stack application lifecycle services to help clients manage their information securely, cost effectively, and still meet mission demands.

Role & Responsibility

This is a hands on cloud engineering role focused on delivering highly available, scalable enterprise solutions on IaaS/PaaS platforms focusing on application assessments, automation and DEVSECOPS. This role includes ownership of technical, commercial and service elements related to cloud project engagements building IaaS/PaaS infrastructure with a concentration of DEVSECOPS experience.

The engineer will ensure high customer satisfaction delivering DevOps and cloud projects. The candidate would ensure a highly satisfied customer experience and drive to reduce labor input, costs, implementation time, and time to benefit.

This person will work closely with clients, partners and other business units to ensure consulting engagements are successful.

  • Proven experience in cloud infrastructure project deals for hands on migration to public clouds.
  • High Availability and Disaster recovery implementations.
  • Design and deploy failover solutions for mission essential applications
  • Experience developing failover and COOP strategies in AWS
  • Experience analyzing architecture alternatives in cloud hosting, and cost modeling of those alternatives
  • Experience with network integration and Cloud connectivity of public and private environments; Ingress and egress of data to and from AWS
  • Experience of compute and storage management and cost control mechanisms
  • Develop solutions for applications that focus on video and media content
  • Design, migrate, and deploy scalable, highly available and reliable applications on AWS
  • Work with the customer to define and document mission requirements, and use cases, and develop cloud-based solutions to meet the requirements
  • Develop a Roadmap for transitioning mission critical functions to AWS
  • Migrate existing on-premise applications to the AWS platform
  • Select and integrate appropriate AWS services to support an application based on business requirements
  • Background in Linux/Unix and/or Windows administration
  • Experience in automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Saltstack, Bosh, Terraform or an equivalent.
  • Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or equivalent
  • Solid understanding of networking and core Internet Protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and routing in distributed networks.
  • A working understanding of scheduling and orchestration with tools such as: kubernetes, Mesos swarm or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge about APIs designing RESTful services and integrated with other providers.
  • AWS Architecture experience ideally with the appropriate vendor certification
  • Understanding of hybrid cloud solutions and experience of integrating public cloud into tradition hosting/delivery models
  • Strong understanding of cloud migration techniques (on premise to Cloud Platforms)
  • Configuration and deployment experience in three or more of the following:
  • AWS IaaS Technologies
  • Deployed application with RESTful/SOAP services interfaces
  • Experience of designing and implementing application and infrastructure monitoring solutions
  • Experience architecting and deploying multi-tiered applications.
  • Experience in architecting security architectures across infrastructure and applications
  • Experience in performance tuning, including the following ; (load balancing, web servers, content delivery Networks, Caching (Content and API)
  • Experience as principal technical lead on at least one major project.
  • Good understanding of application architectures
  • Demonstrable experience in the elicitation & specification of architectural, functional and non-functional requirements
  • A good appreciation of the cost drivers in systems delivery and operations and the commercial consequences of the technical decisions made by you and/or others
  • Ability to develop productive client relationships at different management levels and identify and develop opportunities for new business
  • Strong knowledge on software development methodologies like Agile/Scrum, Kan Ban etc. Broad understanding of enterprise project life cycle

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline.
  • Ten to Fifteen plus years’ experience with AWS cloud services.
  • Certified AWS Solutions Architect
  • Ten to Fifteen years’ experience finding and fixing critical, customer facing production issues.
  • Experience in the development of object-oriented software with languages like Java, C++, Python or Ruby ideally in SOA applications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks).
  • Demonstrated understanding of industry standards for building services in IaaS/PaaS/SaaS in Cloud environments.
  • Experience with modern container orchestration systems: Kubernetes, Mesos, DC/OS, Swarm.
