Providence Staffing’s client is looking for a DevOps Engineer for a remote contract opportunity in Austin, TX. The DevOps Engineer will develop, review, modify, and enhance CI/CD principles, install, configure, and maintain CI/CD tools and platforms, develop and maintain CI/CD pipeline configurations and automate processes. In addition, this position will be assigned to install, configure, build and deploy applications in support of Eligibility Supporting Technology applications. This position is central to ensuring these applications and services remain current across all development, text, training, and production environments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

This DevOps Engineer will also provide environment triage support. This responsibility includes both workday and night/weekend on-call support for all development, test, training, and production environments. This service helps maintain high availability for developers, testers, trainers, and production end users.

  1. Analyzes the technology currently being used and develops plans and processes for improvement and expansion.
  2. Implements and enhances an advanced CI/CD solution. Develops, codes, tests, builds, installs, configures, and maintains IT solutions.
  3. Analyzes processes, and deployments and proposes improvements to streamline code deployments and minimize errors.
  4. Uses configuration management software to automatically deploy updates and fixes into the various production & non-production environments.
  5. Documents processes and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Experience in building out an end-to-end CI/CD toolstack for both on-prem deployment and AWS/AZURE deployments
  • Experience with script languages such as Groovy, Python, Shell, Ruby
  • Experience with Linux, Solaris and Windows operating systems
  • Experience in mentoring and working with other team members in an Agile environment
  • Experience building and deploying applications involving WebSphere Portal Server, WAS (WebSphere Application Server), SQL (Structured Query Language), Business Process Management (BPM), ODM, Datapower and MQ
  • Experience in implementing Jenkins, GitHub, Gitlab, Nexus, Artifactory, Jfrog, Xray, Cloudbees CI/CD, SonarQube, Fortify and VeraCode
  • Experience with Containers and Container orchestration Kubernetes platforms such as Docker EE/Openshift/Rancher
  • Experience with Instrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible, CloudFormation or

    Terraform.

  • Experience with IBM Webshpere Application Server 7/8, Tomcat, Weblogic

    Administration, configuration and troubleshooting.

  • Experience with installing and maintaining DevSecOps tools on Kubernetes platform

    Using Helm Charts

  • Experience developing and supporting large, mission critical applications, transaction

    Processing applications is preferred.

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Developer or similar certification
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

 

 

Desired Skills:

Experience with coding languages and environments including but not limited to Java, J2EE, EJB (Enterprise Java Beans), JSP (JavaServer Pages / Stored Procedures), JSF/Struts (JavaServer Faces, Apache Struts Framework), XML (eXtensible Markup Language), Spring, Hibernate, Oracle and Cognos

 

Work Hours and Location:

  • This position may be required to work remotely at the client discretion, up to 100 percent.
  • This position may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends, evenings, and holiday, as requested.

Compensation:

This position pays $55 to $65 per hour based on experience and qualification.
